| The
village of Devauden is situated in the Wye Valley area
of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the B4293 road, about
six miles from Chepstow. The town of Monmouth is ten
miles away.
Tintern
Abbey is approximately four miles.
The
village has a Church, Shop, Pub, (unfortunately no meals)
and a Garage. Unfortunately like so many village Post
Offices Devauden Post Office closed during June 2008.
The village shop remains open but with restricted hours.
There
are many pubs within three or four miles in surrounding
villages that serve food. In Tintern and Chepstow many
restaurants can be found.
Approximately
300 yards from Viburnum Cottage across the village green
is Chepstow Park Forest. Miles of beautiful woodland
managed by the Forestry Commission and therefore open
for everyone to enjoy.
Devauden
is geograpically situated on the hills that divide the
Wye and Usk valleys. There are many other footpaths
and walks away from the forest. Towards the village
of Trellech and Kilgwrrwg Common.
