The village of Devauden is situated in the Wye Valley area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the B4293 road, about six miles from Chepstow. The town of Monmouth is ten miles away.

Tintern Abbey is approximately four miles.

The village has a Church, Shop, Pub, (unfortunately no meals) and a Garage. Unfortunately like so many village Post Offices Devauden Post Office closed during June 2008. The village shop remains open but with restricted hours.

There are many pubs within three or four miles in surrounding villages that serve food. In Tintern and Chepstow many restaurants can be found.

Approximately 300 yards from Viburnum Cottage across the village green is Chepstow Park Forest. Miles of beautiful woodland managed by the Forestry Commission and therefore open for everyone to enjoy.

Devauden is geograpically situated on the hills that divide the Wye and Usk valleys. There are many other footpaths and walks away from the forest. Towards the village of Trellech and Kilgwrrwg Common.
